PRICE CHANGE 20th JULY 2026
Residential Price Change
19th June 2026: Flogas is today announcing that residential electricity bills will increase by approximately 11% and residential natural gas bills will increase by approximately 12%, effective from 20 July 2026. The price increase will apply only to customers on variable price plans and will not impact customers currently on fixed-rate contracts.
Flogas’ consistent energy purchasing and hedging strategy has helped protect customers from the impact of significant volatility in wholesale energy markets, enabling the company to absorb market pressures for as long as possible. However, continued volatility in global energy markets, coupled with geopolitical tensions and sustained pressures across the energy market, means an increase to residential variable price plans is now necessary.
Residential electricity bills for customers on standard variable price plans will increase by 10.9% based on the Estimated Annual Bill (EAB) as defined by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU), which equates to €4.11 per week.
Residential natural gas bills for customers on standard variable price plans will increase by 11.8%, which equates to €3.47 per week, based on the EAB as defined by the CRU.
- Unit rates and Standing charges will be changing - see our price plans page for details.
- For a Flogas residential standard variable electricity customer, the changes will mean an increase of around €4.11 per week. Please note that if you are on a discounted product, the increase will be lower than this.
- For a Flogas residential standard variable gas customer, the changes will mean an increase of around €3.47 per week. Please note that if you are on a discounted product, the increase will be lower than this.
- Residential electricity customers on fixed rate contract are unaffected.

How customers can reduce the impact of price increases;
Check if you are in a Fixed term contract
We have current offers available to existing customers with significant discounts off our standard variable price plans. If you are unsure whether you are in contract, please contact us.
Consider switching to a Smart meter plan
By switching to a smart plan, you can shift usage to lower cost times. For example, some appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines can be scheduled to run through the night, when prices are cheaper. See our Smart Plans here.
Consider solar panels or battery storage
Solar is the more sustainable option both financially and for the environment. Putting solar panels on your roof, means you are reducing the amount of energy you need to purchase. In fact, you can receive money for any excess electricity your solar panels produce.
By having a battery installed for your solar panels, you can store any energy you don’t use and choose when you want to use it. When your battery is charged and your solar panels are producing more energy than you need, you can also sell that excess electricity back to the grid.

Common Questions
Our Standard Variable electricity and natural gas price plans are increasing from the 20th of July 2026.
If your energy prices change partway through a billing period, your bill may be calculated on a pro rata basis. This means your usage is split into two parts: one charged at your old prices up to the date of the change, and the remainder charged at the new prices from that date onwards. This ensures you are billed accurately for the energy you used at each different price, rather than being charged the new rate for the whole billing period.
If you are on one of our discounted variable offers, your prices will change from 20 July 2026. Your discount will stay the same and will continue to be taken off our standard variable price plans.
If you’re not sure whether you’re on a contract with a discount, please get in touch with us and we’ll be happy to help.
Yes, you can choose to leave at any time; however, if you decide to end your fixed term contract before its agreed end date, early termination fees will apply in line with the terms and conditions of your contract. If you’re unsure whether you’re on a fixed term contract, please check your account details or contact our customer support team. .
No, customers currently on Fixed rate contracts are unaffected. When your contract ends, you will automatically default to one of our standard variable plans unless you enter into a new contract with Flogas. Existing customers can renew their contract when their current contract has ended by visiting our price plan page.
When calculating a customer’s overall bill additional charges such as PSO in electricity, and carbon tax in natural gas, are taken into account. Given that PSO and carbon tax are not increasing, your overall bill increase is slightly less than the quoted percentages.
No, for some of our smart electricity time of use products there are variations in the increases, however the net impact to an electricity customers bill using the CRU average usage is always less than or equal to 11%. For more detailed information around the specific unit rate increases, see our price plans page.
There is no change to our current export rates.
Yes, any customer on a variable price plan is affected. The new price will be applied to your tariff the first time that you vend after the 20 July 2026
