Price Change
Flogas are announcing an increase of circa 7% in our variable electricity charges, with effect from 25th August 2025.
Residential natural gas customers are unaffected by the change.
It is Flogas’ first price increase in three years and follows a 15% reduction in our electricity rates in 2024.
- Unit rates and Standing charges will be changing- see www.flogas.ie/price-plans/ for details.
- For a typical Flogas residential electricity customer, the changes will mean an increase of around €10.51 a month (€126 annually)
- Flogas currently has 43,500 residential electricity customers on variable rates.
- Residential electricity customers on fixed rates are unaffected.
- The increased cost is based on the Estimated Annual Bill (EAB) as defined by the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU).
Commonly asked questions about "Price Change"
By switching to a smart tariff you can shift usage to lower cost times. For example, some appliances such as Dishwashers and Washing machines can be scheduled to run through the night, when prices are cheaper. See our Smart Plans here.
Solar is the more sustainable option both financially and for the environment. Putting solar on your roof, means you are reducing the amount of energy you need to purchase from Flogas. In fact, you can receive money for any excess electricity your solar panels produce. See microgeneration for more information.
By having a battery installed for your solar panels, you can store up any energy you don’t use and choose when you want to use it! When your battery is charged and your solar panels are producing more energy than you need, you can also sell that excess electricity back to the grid.
No, customers currently on Fixed rate contracts are unaffected. When your contract ends, you will automatically default to one of our standard variable plans unless you enter into a new contract with Flogas.
