A Scheme has been approved by the Government to credit eligible domestic electricity customers with two instalments of €114. 68 (exc.VAT) for the forthcoming winter. This is one of a range of measures being taken to mitigate energy costs.
The Commission for the Regulation of Utilities (CRU) will be responsible for overseeing the scheme. ESB Networks will make payments to energy suppliers after receipt of funds from the Exchequer, who in turn will credit all their domestic electricity account holders with two payments of €114.68 (exc.VAT).
