Frequently Asked Questions
We’re upgrading our gas systems to help us better serve our customers. There’s nothing you need to do.
We will write to all natural gas customers with their new account information and direct debit reference. Gas services will continue as normal.
The upgrade will help us provide better service and support for customers into the future.
The work will take place in October, and we hope to complete it by the end of the month.
There’s nothing you need to do. We’ll take care of all the changes for you.
Your gas and electricity services will continue as normal.
Yes. Your gas account number will change as part of our system upgrade, but your GPRN will remain the same. We’ll send all natural gas customers their new account number in writing after Thursday, 29 October 2026. You can also view it in My Accounts in the customer portal.
For a short crossover period after the upgrade, both your old and new account details will appear alongside your GPRN and address. This does not mean you have two gas supplies or contracts - both entries relate to the same property.
Your old account has a 7-digit account number and shows “L-” before the GPRN. Your new account has an 8- or 9-digit account number and does not show “L-” before the GPRN.
Please use your new 8- or 9-digit account number when paying a bill or submitting a meter reading. Once the crossover period is complete, only your new gas account number will appear in My Accounts.
Yes, direct debit arrangements will continue, although some customers may experience a slight delay in collection date. You don’t need to do anything. Direct debit mandate references will change, and we’ll confirm the new reference in writing after Thursday, 29 October 2026.
We are accepting new customers during the upgrade. Electricity orders will be processed straight away, and gas orders will be processed after Thursday, 29 October 2026. This means gas supplies will take longer to switch to Flogas than normal. You may be out of contract with your existing supplier and charged their standard variable tariff during this time. We will confirm your renewal in writing once it is processed.
Yes, online accounts will continue to work as normal, so customers can still log in and access usual online services.
You can access our customer portal https://portal.flogas.ie/ to pay a bill, submit a meter reading and check your account.
We are still accepting payments, however there could be a delay before they are applied to your account during system upgrade.
There’s no need to contact us unless you need support. Our team is there to help if you need us.
Yes, no problem, but for natural gas we may take a little longer than usual to send you a revised invoice.
Your electricity supply will switch as normal. However, we will only be able to process your gas switch from 29 October 2026. If you are out of contract with your current gas supplier, you may be charged the standard variable rate until the switch is completed. If you are within your cooling off period, you may cancel the switch without penalty, in line with our Product Terms and Conditions.
