Gigginstown Stud triumphs again in Flogas Novice Chase

Despite the wintry weather, the Grade 1 Flogas Novice Chase, at the Irish Gold Cup meeting on Sunday 12th February, was one of the highlights of a packed afternoon of exhilarating racing.

Gigginstown Stud once again triumphed as jockey Sean Flanagan won his first ever Grade 1 victory aboard Disko for his boss, trainer Noel Meade.  The flying grey outdistanced his rivals, including race favourite Bellshill, to win by a length and three-quarters and now looks set to compete in the JLT Novices Chase at Cheltenham in March.

John Rooney, managing director, Flogas Ireland, said, “There was a great atmosphere on day, despite the weather, and the racing didn’t disappoint, with a thrilling and unexpected finish to our own Flogas Novice chase that brought the crowd to its feet.”
