Flogas is delighted to sponsor the jerseys for the two Newtown Blues GFC Ladies under 12 team that arrived just in time for the players to wear in the upcoming Louth U12s football championship beginning on Thursday 17th August. Both teams play to a very high standard, this year reaching the semi-finals of the U12s Louth League and with five team members representing their county in the Under 12s Leinster competition.

Newtown Blues GFC was founded in 1887 and is based in East Drogheda at the heart of a very vibrant community.  The club caters for adult men and women’s senior teams at the highest level but draws its very existence from the local community, with teams from under 7 to under 18 level. The club has a proud record of participation in both male and female competitions and have consistently provided players to the county teams at all grades.

The Ladies section of the club started in 1999 and has grown from strength to strength each year. In 2016, the Senior Ladies won the Division 1 league title, a first for the club and a Drogheda team and in 2014 claimed the senior championship title for the first time in the ladies’ club history. The underage program is continuing to grow and provide football for so many young girls, keeping them active and involved with a team sport.
