Flogas Ireland was delighted to support the Drogheda Enterprise Centre with a €5,000 donation presented by managing director Richard Martin to its chairman Graham O’Rourke at the Flogas Customer Support Centre in Knockbrack House, Donore Road, Drogheda on Tuesday 12th March 2013.

Richard Martin said, “We are delighted to join with other local companies in supporting this very worthy project, which should act as a catalyst for new entrepreneurs and enterprises in the locality. Flogas was established in Drogheda over 30 years ago and since then, I am proud to say that the company has grown to become a major player in the LPG and Natural Gas sectors. We are delighted to be in a position to encourage fledgling companies and entrepreneurs on our doorstep and wish the Centre every success over the coming years.”

The Drogheda Enterprise Centre is currently under construction and plans to open for business by the end of 2013. It will provide space and supports for up to 16 growing companies and support over 40 local jobs, providing in excess of €2.5 million per annum to the local economy. The Centre will provide a one-stop-shop for state support agencies to effectively deliver more support and enterprise programmes in the Greater Drogheda area.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Graham O’Rourke, chairman of Drogheda Enterprise Centre said, “Our sincere thanks to Flogas for their very generous financial contribution towards the funding of this much-needed Centre, which will focus on helping people start new businesses and providing jobs for themselves and others right here in Drogheda. At a time of such high unemployment in the local community, we must foster indigenous enterprise development through a spirit of self-help and local endeavour.”

Flogas Ireland is one of the country’s leading providers of LPG and Natural Gas to the commercial and residential sectors in Ireland. Flogas Ireland directly employs 135 people in its LPG and Natural Gas divisions, the majority of whom are based in the Drogheda area, at the Customer Support Centre in Knockbrack House, Donore Road and its Marine Terminal on the Marsh Road.
