Flogas warmly welcomed two of its brand ambassadors, gold-medal winning paralympians Eve McCrystal and Katie George-Dunlevy, when they dropped into the head office in Drogheda last Friday 23rd September.

Eve and Katie are two of the five para-athletes who became Flogas brand ambassadors in the run up to the Paralympics. They won gold in the Women’s B Tandem Time Trial and silver in the Women’s B Tandem Road Race.

The company’s other brand ambassadors are Michael McKillop (athletics) who successfully defended his 1500m T37 title securing the gold medal once again; Niamh McCarthy (discus) who won silver in the F41 final and Patrick O’Leary (canoe) who finished sixth in the KL3 canoe sprint final, the first time the sport has featured in the Games. They were all part of an Irish team of 48 athletes across 10 sports that brought home an incredible 11 medals from the Games – four gold, four silver and three bronze, earning them a 28th placing on the medals table, inside the top 30 spot targeted at the outset.

John Rooney, managing director, Flogas Ireland, said:

“Team Ireland did a fantastic job in Rio and we were extremely proud of the achievements of our brand ambassadors.  Congratulations to Eve, Katie, Niamh, Michael and Patrick on their wonderful level of success in terms of medal wins and personal bests.  They were a credit to Ireland in their respective disciplines.”
