Flogas sponsors Wexford Under 14 Hurling
|
There was a feast of underage hurling in ideal conditions as FCJ Bunclody took everyone by surprise when they captured the Flogas County Wexford secondary schools Under 14 Division 1 title at the grounds of the Cloughbawn Club in Castleboro on Friday 25 May 2007. Three teams had qualified so a round robin series of games was required to determine the winner. In beautiful weather conditions, all three teams served up a fast skilful game but there was no stopping FCJ Bunclody, who came out on top against St Peter's College of Wexford, who came second and Good Counsel College of New Ross.
In the Flogas County Wexford secondary schools Under 14 Division 2 final on Wed 23 May in Taghmon, Bridgetown Vocational College came from behind in the closing minutes to defeat Ramsgrange Community School by two points. Chief Organiser Jim Furling presented the trophy to the winning team. Said Flogas area sales representative John Kirwan, "Flogas is very pleased to have been the sponsor of this always hard-fought competition for the last number of years and the standard just seems to get better and better. Congratulations to FCJ Bunclody and Bridgetown on their excellent wins. Commiserations to all the finalists and better luck in 2008!."
