![]() L-R: Patrick Mercer, Richard Martin Patrick Mercer retired as Chief Executive of Flogas Ireland on March 31st 2006. He was the last remaining member of the founding executive team to retire from the company,which was incorporated in 1977. He played a very significant role in the development of Flogas both in Ireland and Britain and contributed greatly to the company's success. Since its inception, the company has grown to be one of the largest independent suppliers of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in both Britain and Ireland. Flogas joined the Unlisted Securities Market in Dublin and London in 1983 and was the first Irish company to use the plc designation. In 1990 the company was admitted to the Official List in the Dublin and London Stock Exchanges. Flogas became a wholly owned subsidiary of DCC plc in 1996. Patrick Mercer is a Chartered Engineer, holding Honours Bachelor and Masters Degrees from University College Dublin. Richard Martin, has been appointed as Managing Director of Flogas Ireland from 1st April 2006. Richard joined Flogas in 1979 and has held a number of senior management roles, principally in the sales & marketing division of Flogas. As a key member of the management team, he has contributed significantly to the overall development of the company's operations in Ireland. |
